ILMAVEERE SPA
You can do a lot. Or you can do very little. But one thing is certain: there’s always time for a sauna, at least once a week.
ILMAVEERE SPA
We live in a world where our days fill up quickly. With thoughts, things to do, meetings and notifications. Sometimes, the simplest thing can be the hardest of all – to truly relax.
Ilmaveere SPA was created to give your body and mind a chance to slow down.
Here, one world embraces another. On the hillside stands an old traditional smoke sauna, with its soot-darkened walls, the scent of woodsmoke and centuries-old customs. It is as though the new spa building has gently wrapped itself around it. Here, tradition meets modern comfort, thoughtful design and innovation.
Inside our new spa, you’ll find a Finnish-style sauna, a steam room, a warm hydrotherapy pool and a private float room for moments of complete solitude. Outdoors, a traditional smoke sauna, a wood-fired hot tub and a pond await.
Each offers something different, but all share one purpose: to leave you feeling a little lighter than when you arrived.
We intentionally welcome a limited number of guests at a time, so the spa never feels crowded. We want everyone who visits to feel that there is truly a place here just for them.
Every corner has been thoughtfully considered. Almost wherever you choose to sit, a view opens up before you – across the pond, the rolling hills and towards Lake Obinitsa in the distance. Sometimes you admire nature through a window. Other times, you find yourself right in the middle of it.
Come as you are, and let Ilmaveere take care of you.

Traditional Smoke Sauna
To visit Setomaa without experiencing a traditional smoke sauna would be almost a sin. In the old days, just as families made time for church, they made sure to visit the sauna at least once a week.
A smoke sauna takes several hours to heat, offering a deeply relaxing experience for both body and soul. Nothing here can be rushed. Once the sauna has been heated and the last of the smoke has been released, it’s time to step inside.
In a properly heated and prepared smoke sauna, there is no lingering smoke, the air feels light and the steam is gentle on the skin.
Floating
Sometimes, the most wonderful moments are the ones when almost everything around you fades away.
Floating gives you the chance to spend some time entirely on your own, letting your body float effortlessly in a state of weightlessness, while leaving behind as much tension and outside stimulation as possible.
The magnesium-rich salt water and the feeling of weightlessness help your body relax, offering particular comfort to tired muscles and joints. But perhaps the greatest luxury of all is simply having a little time when nothing is expected of you.
No need to talk. No need to check the time. No need to reply. No need to be anywhere else.
Just be. And float.
Floating is not included in the spa admission price and requires a separate reservation.
Finnish-Style Sauna
Some days, the cold seems to settle deep beneath your skin, and all your body longs for is warmth.
A Finnish-style sauna is the simplest, most honest answer. Take a seat on the sauna bench, pour some water over the hot stones and let the heat do its work. There’s no right pace to follow and no sauna ritual you have to complete.
In our sauna, the Saunum air circulation system helps distribute heat and steam more evenly throughout the room. Less intense heat around your head, and more comforting warmth from head to toe.
A good sauna session leaves your body warm, your mind clear and, for a little while, makes you forget all about the time. And if a good night’s sleep follows, all the better.
Outdoor Hot Tub
The best thing about an outdoor hot tub is that you can be wonderfully warm, even when the world around you isn’t.
Set on our terrace, the hot tub lets you enjoy the outdoors beneath the open sky. Feel the cool air on your skin, listen to the sounds of nature and take in the rolling hills stretching down towards Lake Obinitsa. In the distance, our ponies Saara and Spotter might be trotting about, happily minding their own business.
It’s especially lovely here as the evening grows quiet and the first stars begin to appear in the sky.
That contrast between warm water and cool air is half the magic.
Hydrotherapy Pool
Warm water and gently massaging bubbles help your body unwind. Tension melts away, leaving you feeling lighter and completely at ease.
Here, it’s easy to lose track of time and simply be. Even if it’s just for those last five minutes, which somehow always turn into a few more.
More often than not, this is the place nobody wants to leave.
Steam Room
If the intense heat of a traditional sauna isn’t quite for you, or you’re simply in the mood for something gentler, the steam room might be just what you need.
Warm, soothing steam fills the room, creating a softer, more mellow kind of warmth. There’s no need to follow any sauna rituals here. You can simply sit, close your eyes and let the warmth gently surround you.
Pond
Just a few steps separate the sauna from the pond.
In summer, the water is a little more welcoming. In winter, it’s for the braver souls. When the pond freezes over, we cut a hole in the ice, and that’s when you find out just how much you really wanted to cool down.
The pond is perfect for cooling off and enjoying a refreshing dip, but not for diving – the water is too shallow for that. Step in slowly, let the cold work its magic, and then head back to the warmth of the sauna.
The heat is wonderful, but a dip in the cool water is the perfect finishing touch.
Something for Body and Mind
Complimentary tea, water and fresh fruit are yours to enjoy during your spa visit.
You’ll also find a bar in the spa area, where you can order smoothies and other drinks to suit your mood. If you’re staying at our hotel, you can simply add your purchases to your room bill.
To make your spa experience even more special, we’ve thoughtfully selected a few little treats for your skin. A refreshing body scrub and a nourishing honey body cream await you in small jars, ready to add a little extra care to your moment of relaxation.
And if you fall in love with these lovely textures, you can pick up a full-sized jar at the spa reception and bring a little of Ilmaveere’s care into your own rituals at home.
Spaa meeskonnale
Ettevõtetele oleme loonud ka kolm valmis SPA-elamust, mille ümber saab ehitada just teie meeskonnale sobiva päeva.

Guided Smoke Sauna Ritual
Sometimes, the greatest luxury is simply letting go and allowing someone else to take care of you.
Our sauna guide leads you through the experience with care and intuition – sometimes with traditional birch whisks and herbal compresses, sometimes with salt, honey or a gentle sauna song.
All you need to do is be present and let yourself be cared for.
The ritual must be booked in advance.
