Irboska is a 2-room unit located on the first floor of Ilmaveere. It has an exceptional view of Obinitsa Lake. Saviukumaja velvety matte paints and slightly textured natural clay are used to give the room a mild green palette. This is accompanied by the restored old logs. Dark clay marmorino in the bathroom adds a luxurious finish. The larger room accommodates two, and the smaller one has a single bed.

A bit of history behind the name of the room:

The 12 rooms of Ilmaveere have been named after the 12 areas of Setomaa. Instead of parishes, Setomaa has been divided into “nulks” or “corners”. So when talking to a local, one might ask “Kost nulgast sa peri olõt?” or “Which corner do you come from?” Irboska is now on the Russian side of the border. Looking out of the window, you can imagine the Irboska town about 27 km away, first mentioned in 862. The area is also named after the town. It’s one of the oldest towns in Russia, and the Irboska castle is also located there. To defend against that, the Livonian Order built two of its castles nearby – Aluliina and Vastseliina. Although visiting the Russian side is complicated, the two Livonian ones are just a quick drive away.
